I don’t know the year but it was in the early 70’s. I as driving home at night alone and was crossing the black dirt on Big Island Rd., halfway between Pulaski Highway and Round Hill Rd., where I lived.

I had a strong wish. A very strong wish to wake up in that moment. I followed the simple rules of making a Work Attempt as I had for years. But this time I woke up.

There was no doubt or question whatsoever. In fact there was no thought. I just WAS. It was like a Day and Night difference between these moments and my state of consciousness just seconds before. Though there was no sense of time — this state went on for maybe 2 minutes judging by where the car was. Then my emotions, my jubilation and self-congratulations at having Successfully Awoken broke through and suddenly I was back on Earth, in my everyday consciousness driving my car home……………..
